I went on to volunteer at an animal shelter from age 15 until 18. While volunteering, I learned how to care for, interact with and have patience with animals from all types of backgrounds. My long hours and hard work paid off when I was given award and monetary donation to the shelter for the most volunteer hours my senior year of high school.
In 2006 I obtained a BA in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. While working as a teacher for 8 years, I shared my passion for animals with my students by having a classroom full of pets and teaching children responsibility.
When I relocated to Wekiva from Oviedo, I created the Facebook group- Wekiva Community as a way of connecting my new community through social media. Currently I live with my wife, 11 year old step son, 4 small dogs (Maltese, Yorkie and 2 brothers that are a mix of Maltese and Pomeranian), 1 larger dog (Aussie Doodle), a cat and a retired classroom bearded dragon. When time allows I love to kayak on the different rivers in Central Florida and go biking. I can also be seen walking my own dogs throughout the Wekiva trails or hanging out at Wekiva Island.
I am the Co-Founder of Mid Central Florida Professional Pet Sitters Network along with Jenorise Mejia with Winter Park Pet Concierge. We created this as a way to connect with other Professional pet sitting business owners in the area, create a professional pet sitting standard, and to be able to provide quality referrals for pet parents not in my service area.
